I have returned from my two-week vacation to the East Coast. While I had plenty of Philly cheesesteaks, hoagies and pizza, my trip to New York was cancelled due to bad weather. I plan to reschedule my trip for mid-July and will have an update for you then. While I wasn’t able to visit Ann Wood’s studio or see Stina Persson’s paintings in person, I completed one thing on my summer wish list – I finally bought the West Elm Tribal Diamond Rug! It will arrive later this week and I can’t wait to sink my feet into it.
While away I had lots of time to think about decorating. I was particularly focused on all things black, as I am incorporating more of the color into my San Francisco apartment. I am especially intrigued by the color combination of black and vibrant yellow. Together, the two colors form an Audrey Hepburn-esque classic combination, and I am looking for more ways to incorporate both colors into my decor.
During my black exploration I came across this chair on Retro Modern. This rubber coated baroque-style chair is made for sitting outdoors, and you can get this luxurious chair in not only black, but a number of hot summer colors, including purple, acid green and even yellow. I may have to get one to dress my outdoor space this summer. Probably a couple of summers from now. The Voltaire Armchair comes with a hefty price tag, but it is definitely worth it.
