Modern Economy Sale

I went to a wonderful event this weekend – Modern Economy’s July Sample Sale. Modern Economy sample sales are organized by designer Meg Mateo Ilasco. The samples sales, which began in January 2006, are a way to offer modern design at an affordable price. It was my first time going to a Modern Economy sale, which are held twice a year in San Francisco and L.A. (sorry Eastcoasters). The list of featured designers read like a who’s who list, especially for the design enthusiast. Thomas Paul, Dwell, Relish, Nurseryworks, Inhabit – everyone was there. And the greatest thing was that items were up to 70% off. I found my find of the year – a Thomas Paul Geisha Pillow cover for only $25!

Below is my fabulous find that I couldn’t wait to show off. It goes perfectly with my other Thomas Paul pillows. What can I say, I’m addicted to good design.

My $25 steal looks great among my other silhouette pieces.

My Thomas Paul collection feels truly complete now. I will definitely be there at the next Modern Economy sample sale for even more great finds.
