Menno Schmitz

I recently discovered the work of artist and interior designer Menno Schmitz. This Dutch designer knows how to create an amazing visual experience, whether translating his ideas to textiles, furniture, or on a large scale like his new interior design project at Merkato 55 in New York.

Menno has the ability to work in a broad range of mediums. Creating mixed media collages, silk-screened shawls, and amazing silk-screened banners.

He offers a diverse and global experience. Giving an eye towards Africa, Menno’s work spans the Diaspora. His gorgeous depictions taking you to the very soul of the Continent.

I feel deeply inspired by his global perspective and can’t wait to view his work up close and personal at Merkato 55.

You can read more about the incredible restaurant over at Hammocks & High Tea, and can explore more of Menno’s work here and here.
