On the Hunt: Thomas Paul Geisha Pillow

Last month I received an “On the Hunt” request from the author of one of my favorite blogs, Moodboard:

If you happen to see any more of Thomas Paul’s geisha pillow covers will you let me know? I’ve wanted a pink one ever since I saw it in Lucky years ago.

Many of you probably remember this very popular Thomas Paul pillow. It was featured everywhere, and I was lucky enough to snatch one up last year at a Modern Economy sale.

Because the Thomas Paul line changes annually, it can be difficult to find past designs. Sometimes sites like Bluefly continue to carry Thomas Paul overstock, but more than likely you are going to have to spend a lot of time tracking down a design that is no longer available.

After some online research, I did find a set of Thomas Paul Geisha Pillows on e-bay. Unfortunately it was a little too late for our friend from Moodboard to get them, but the good news is that they are still out there, and with a little bit of patience they are sure to come around again.

However, if you just can’t wait, here are two wonderful alternatives to the Geisha Pillow that have the same Asian-inspired feel and similar silhouettes.

The Chinoiserie Pillow by Thomas Paul can be found at 2Modern and Pillows and Throws. Both have a dwindling selection, but if you act quickly, you can still find them in some gorgeous colors.

For a less expensive alternative, the Pagoda Pillow from Target has an Asian-inspired silhouette, and comes in a range of colors. My favorite is this ultramarine blue version.

Moodboard, I suggest you stay on the hunt for that original pillow you love. It is sure to turn up, but if you just can’t wait, these alternatives are sure to suffice. Good luck and happy hunting!

And, if you are “On the Hunt” for that special something, please send me an e-mail at [email protected]
