We all have people that we admire, and for me, Rachel Roy is a woman whose work speaks to me. A talented fashion designer, successful entrepreneur, and a woman who is beautiful and comfortable in her own skin, everything about her fascinates me. And so, I was extremely excited to see this talented designer’s New York home featured on The Coveteur. I love to see how other designers live. Roy’s home is fashion-savvy and sophisticated, as you would expect, and also filled with cultural pieces that express her Indian heritage. I was very excited to see a designer with real “modern, soulful style”, where culture and modern design go hand-in-hand in her interior.
A beautiful white and marigold dress by Roy hangs in front of the bookshelf. Her clothing has an easy glamour that’s classic and sexy.
Cultural touches abound throughout Roy’s home. Hand-carved pieces from India are a nod to her cultural heritage. She writes about the country on her website. The images are absolutely beautiful.
Among the hand-carved pieces, organic furnishings, like this wood side table, are a perfect complement.
It is clear that Roy is a woman who is always seeking inspiration. Her bookshelf is filled with books featuring the work of iconic fashion designers.
The Missoni jacket is wonderful, and so is the light fixture behind it. A truly stunning piece.
While the LaPerla lingerie is not always hung on books in her interior, I love this little show of the designer’s sexy side.
