We converted a 3,000 square foot warehouse space at the the Helms Bakery District in Los Angeles, into a loft-style home. This pop-up house was the first African American concept home ever presented on the west coast. The focus of the project was to create a livable and soulful space designed with furnishings and accessories from vendors at Helms Bakery, including H.D. Buttercup, Room & Board and Rejuvenation. The concept home featured an art installation curated in partnership with Saatchi Art. To continue the mix of art and artisanship in the project, we worked with artisans in New York and Rwanda, designing our very own wallpaper for the project, as well as pillows and baskets that were handcrafted in Rwanda. The pop-up home showcased the perfect blend of modern furnishings, cultural accents and global style.
