ABOUT THE PROJECT
One of New York’s most fashionable boutiques was in need of a modern update. Just in time for the one-year anniversary of 9J, located in The Bronx, we designed an outdoor oasis for customers to enjoy. The space was designed to reflect the aesthetic of fashion designer and entrepreneur Jérôme LaMaar and his South Bronx “gallotique”. A graphic tile floor was added to give the space a visual punch. New walls were built and painted in a deep black. Custom bench seating was designed to encourage long-time consumer engagement in the outdoor space. And a dining and prep area were created so that the space could be utilized for in-store events. The final touch was a container garden to complete the oasis.
