Description
This contemporary update is an abstract take on the batik patterns of the Yoruba in West Africa, playing with the shape and line of the pattern to be a beautiful statement in any room. Batik is another pattern with a long history and a wide array of cultural connections. The oldest examples hail from ancient Egypt but the process has also emerged in China and Japan, reaching it’s highest expressions in Indonesia before being introduced to West Africa by Dutch and German traders. This uniquely global pattern is a beautiful way to bring the world into any space.
