This Brownstone Is A Study In Neutrals

This brownstone in Hoboken, NJ is a testament to how neutrals can be used to bring some excitement to an interior. Black, white and shades of silvery gray form the primary color palette in the home of Isabel and Jerome Péribère. The two have designed a home that speaks to the old adage,  pay attention to detail. Beautifully restored molding, stunning wallpaper, a variety of textures, and unique furnishings all come together to form a one-of-a-kind interior where neutrals take center stage.

Hollywood Glam At Public Chicago

We were lucky to stay at the Public Chicago hotel when we were in the Windy City last week for a book signing. A hotel sporting its very own brand of modern luxury, we were met with a special blend of streamlined, mid-century modern furnishings, rustic wood details, out-of-this-world modern lighting, and federal styling. The blend of historical style was perfect for a hotel built upon a rich past. Formerly the place where celebrities would dine when visiting Chicago’s Gold Coast (everyone from Sinatra, to Richard Pryor to Elizabeth Taylor had been a guest) it is now an Ian Schrager boutique hotel where those who love a well-designed interior can sit back, relax, eat a burger by Jean-Georges Vongerichten (which we recommend), and then go up to a relaxing room that will melt all your troubles away. A block away from the beach at Lake Michigan, in our opinion, this hotel is the perfect destination for a weekend get-away. Oh, and by the way, it’s gorgeous!

This San Francisco Home Is Filled With Global Influences

Collected pieces from around the globe, perfectly mixed with modern decor make this San Francisco home truly unique. Pieces from China, Japan, Morocco and Sweden can all be spotted in this interior. Beyond the home’s antique treasures, modern day takes on cultural design are also present. We are in love with the chinoiserie wallpaper lining the bedroom wall, the bold ikat print that the headboard is upholstered in and the Perroquet Wallpaper that has a striking Asian influence in a little girl’s room. Global pieces are the perfect accents in this modern craftsman home.
