The Bienenstock Furniture Library in High Point

I am so excited to bring you more from our trip to High Point.  In preparation for our book tour event at High Point Market, we learned about an amazing center of design – the Bienenstock Furniture Library.  We partnered with the Furniture Library for the sale of our book, and also learned about their incredible history.  It is home to the world’s largest collection of books on furniture and interior design.  They have books that date back all the way to the 17th Century.  We were thrilled to find out that their vast collection of 8000 volumes is also very diverse.  You can find books about African-American furniture maker Thomas Day (who is featured in our book), and now, our book REMIX: Decorating with Culture, Objects and Soul is part of their permanent collection.  If you love the history of design, and want to learn in a modern research facility, a visit to the Furniture Library in High Point is a must.  We are very proud to be a part of their collection!

Our Visit To The Proximity Hotel in Greensboro

On Friday we arrived in Greensboro for our first book tour event – a pre-publishing book signing at High Point Market.  Before we headed to Market, our first stop was the Proximity Hotel in Greensboro.  It’s an absolutely beautiful hotel, offering a taste of Hollywood Glamour in the south.  All of the details were gorgeous, from the black and white Proximity taxis, to luxurious draped curtains and spiral staircases that made you feel like a movie star when you entered.  Bryan and I also enjoyed the Print Works Bistro next door which had the yummiest cocktails in Greensboro.  It was the perfect setting to help us relax and celebrate before our signing.

Menagerie Makes Philadelphia’s Best Cup Of Coffee

We love to discover new restaurants while walking around the city.  Last week Bryan and I popped into Menagerie Coffee, a cute coffee shop that recently opened in Old City.  We came for the coffee, but left loving their homemade hot apple cider.  With a comfortable and cozy home-like environment, a great staff and yummy pastries and drinks, Menagerie Coffee is sure to become a frequent stop during our walks through Old City Philadelphia.
